ABOUT US

Windover Bikes was established whilst enjoying a post ride pub stop in the shadow of Windover Hill, part of the South Downs National Park. Founded by three experienced frame builders and bike designers, our shared passion for off road riding, gravel, bike packing and endurance racing led us to join forces and make the bikes we wanted to ride.

Our philosophy is to offer frames and forks to riders demanding a high quality, performance product that is extremely durable with a timeless, elegant design. We only make bikes we want to ride ourselves, and each is extensively tested first.

All Windover models are designed by us, and our Sussex based frame building facility allows us to prototype and develop our bikes before they reach production. The final product is produced either in house, or by our frame building partner in the EU. We manufacture in small batches which allows us to keep a close eye on quality and keep unit costs down.

Our forks are produced by an industry leading manufacturer in Asia, before independent testing by a specialist in Germany to ensure they're ready for adventure. We offer these as a standalone product to upgrade your existing bike or compliment a bike from another framebuilder.

When we're not building bikes, we're riding them. Gravel, MTB, sessions in the local woods and bike packing trips around the world. Testing and developing our products to be versatile, dependable and efficient.

We thank you for taking the time to read about us and hope to speak to you soon.

Sam, Chris and Rich

THE TEAM

SAM WATSON

Sam started at Enigma Bicycle Works whilst studying engineering and learnt to build steel frames the traditional way under the guidance of industry veteran Geoff Roberts. Once lugged and brazed frames were mastered, Sam went on to learn TIG welding of titanium and steel, building hundreds of frames for Enigma in the process. From sessioning the local trails to bike packing across Iceland, Sam's riding experience feeds back into each Windover frame.

Richard Lambert

RICHARD LAMBERT

Richard has spent his life working with bikes, meeting Chris and Sam whilst working at Enigma as a frame designer and bike fitter. Like the rest of the Windover team, Richard’s main interests are mountain biking, gravel and bike packing, which led him to complete the 2500 mile Great Divide route from Mexico to Canada a few years ago. Having completed thousands of bike fits, Richard is the man to speak to if you want to discuss geometry and sizing.

CHRIS DAVIS

After studying engineering at Warwick University, Chris had a long career in international development before making a recent change of direction. As General Manager at Enigma Bicycle Works, Chris reconnected with his love for bikes and learnt how to build steel frames. The first Pan Celtic Race in 2019 was a galvanising moment for him, providing the conviction to co-found Windover Bikes with a focus on adventure riding and touring.

RIDEWORKS

Rideworks make amazing quality components from their HQ in Coventry and were a natural partner for us to turn to for exceptional quality bottom brackets that we supply to our framesets as an optional extra.

RITCHEY

We are really impressed by Ritchey and they have been our trade partners for providing the finishing kit for all our prototypes. We'll be specifying Ritchey finishing kit as part of our set builds from 2023.
